Background and Scope

Worcester Shrub Hill Station was selected by the Department for Transport as part of the Access for All (AfA) Programme to provide step free access to all platforms.

The existing luggage bridge at the station was essentially removed in 2019 as part of a refurbishment project. Following the removal of the luggage bridge structure, it was deemed not economically viable to refurbish the steel work as planned. However, to facilitate the future AfA project, the refurbishment project was revised to incorporated removable panels in the luggage bridge to accommodate new stairs that were to provide access to/from Platform 1 and Platform 2. In addition, new lifts were to be fitted within the existing lift shafts of the luggage bridge.

Kilborn Work & Outputs

  • Conduct a Signal Sighting Assessment for the affected signals / indicators identified.
  • Production of associated combined Signalling Impact & Signal Sighting Report.
